I looked at the last post’s date and saw that it had been well over a month since I sat down and posted anything. We are still in that weird “doing paperwork but doing nothing” stage. I’m not sure you’d be all that interested in the details – I’m not! I finished my next to last 8 weeks of grad. school, we have signed papers, gone to 1 of 3 doctor appointments that are on our calendar, and filled out grant application after grant application. Let me tell you, riveting stuff going on here. I start back to school on Monday so while I have a free moment, here is what’s new.
I did take some time to update our Family Story here on the website.
My best friend is an amazing photographer and friend and offered to do a fundraiser for us. She’s taking Santa photos for families. For a donation to our adoption fund, you get 2 digital images. That’s pretty fantastic. You may recognize the Santa… I think he passes for a fairly genuine one but I don’t think he’ll be joining the National Society of Authentic Santas just yet… (oh yes, it’s a real thing).
We have about 30 cookbooks left – y’all are amazing! Tell your friends and family that they want one before Thanksgiving or at least stocking stuffers for Christmas! You can order online here
We received an update from R’s clinical physiologist. I will suffice to say, my mother’s heart wants me down there IMMEDIATELY. The law and logistics pretty much says I have to stay here a while longer. The update makes sense in written terms. Our hearts tell us there’s more to her situation and it requires US being there to assess it completely.
Just thought I’d end with this little ditty. The D.R. can’t officially process our paperwork until I turn 30 so I thought I’d do what every obsessive impatient person like myself does – create a timer to tell me exactly when I will turn 30 so I can make sure our paperwork is where it needs to be when it needs to be there!
